I am sorry. but when I watched the film yesterday the only highlights were the comments of the Dalai Lama. The group of people who were supposed to meet were selfcentred egocentrics and had nothing enlightening to say. Also the German translation was not very good. It should have been subtitles only. I was very happy that they at least left the words of the Dalai Lama undoubed

I was not involved in the German translation of the film (or the release in Germany), and I don't speak German, so I can't comment on how accurate the German translation was.

In the German version, all of the speakers's voices were dubbed with German actors, except for the Dalai Lama, who speaks English and is subtitled in German.

But, "Dalai Lama Renaissance" did receive some very good press in Germany. (check here for an example of a very positive review in Germany: http://dalailamafilm.com/press.html)

I saw the film at the Rafael Theatre, California Film Institute in San Rafael, California.
The film is so heart warming and heart opening, it gave me the sense of being right there in the presence of His Holiness. In many ways, it is a healing film. You succeeded in creating an experience of being with the Dalai Lama, himself, which itself is healing and and a meaningful contribution. I have a hunch that ,if people were hooked up to a brain imaging or biofeedback device, you would actually see physical changes in most viewers. Just saw Dalai Lama Renaissance at the Frozen River Film Festival in Winona, MN. The film was intensely moving, thought provoking, and filled with the surprisingly pure humanity and humor of the Dalai Lama. It was a bright spot in my day and a reminder to be a kinder me. Last Sunday, my friend Annie and I (David) had the honor of watching your film, the Dalai Lama Renaissance. It was emotional for both of us to listen to the simple and yet, so profound, words of the Dalai Lama.

After the movie was completed, we had the honor of meeting Khashyar Darvich. Within a few minutes of our conversation, it was very clear to both of us what a huge heart he has, and like the Dalai Lama, he moved us emotionally.

Please share these words with him - thank you Khashyar - for bringing the worlds of the Dalai Lama to us, and for sharing your own words with us - it kept us talking about the movie and about our encounter for the rest of the evening.
