In today’s modern world, science and technology play vital roles in bringing unprecedented material comfort to the lives of human beings. However, the basic human problems of suffering, fear and tension still remain and form part of our daily lives. We are still constantly confronted with devastating news such as violence, crime, wars and natural disasters. Thus, it is only logical to try to strike a balance between material developments on the one hand and the development of spiritual, human values on the other hand. In order to bring about this great adjustment, we need to revive our humanitarian values. His Holiness will share his personal outlook on how we may bring about peace not only on a personal level but at the community and world wide level.
